Dr. Sandy Range, Ph.D.
Rev. Dr. Sandy has over sixteen years in clinical practice, fifty-five years of spiritual training and practice (since her youth) and over thirty years in human services. She owns and manages a full-service mental health, spiritual wellness, and personal and spiritual development organization. She holds a BA degree in Human Services Planning and Management, an M.Ed. degree in Counseling Psychology, an M.Msc. in Metaphysical Theology, a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion, and is an ordained minister and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
She holds certifications as a trauma specialist, critical incident responder, critical incident stress debriefing and management, clinical hypnotherapist, neuro-linguistic programming coach & practitioner and reiki master. She is a facilitator of groups and workshops that promote awareness, inner growth, holistic wellness, higher consciousness, and the evolution of the spirit. She counsels as a psychotherapist for personal and spiritual development; practices spiritual medicine in the Cherokee and Lakota traditions; holds traditional Native American talking circle (ceremony), teaches ascension meditation classes; utilizes drum, sound and energy therapies; is an equine therapist, and holds a monthly Sacred Source Sunday Service.
She began her spiritual work as a child. Her mother, East Indian (Hindu) and Cherokee, raised her in both cultural traditions and spirituality. Her father, Cherokee, Black and German, also a Christian, had a great influence on her perceptions and acceptance of others’ cultures and beliefs.
Very early in life Rev. Dr. Sandy was a seer, but didn’t fully understand her gift. As well, parochial school frowned on her gifts, and she learned to suppress them. Later in life, she was blessed to unleash her seeing gift and to receive and send information from her Spirit Council, “The Seven.” Her healing practices are intuitive and spiritually guided.
After working with underserved and homeless women, she found many suffered from PTSD and other traumatic issues. This prompted Rev. Dr. Sandy to return to graduate school to receive her master’s degree and become licensed as a clinical psychotherapist and trauma specialist. She also saw that these women and many of her clients, over the decades, lacked access to and integration of their whole being, especially soul/spirit. She self-educated and took dozens of workshops and seminars to learn more about spirituality and trauma. She spent many summers as a student of Lakota and Cherokee medicine. In an attempt to incorporate all of her learning and gifts, she was led in a pursuit of ordination as a metaphysical minister with the International Metaphysical Ministry and then to receive her Ph.D. through the University of Sedona in Comparative Religion.
Rev. Dr. Sandy is a multifaceted counselor, therapist, coach, public speaker, facilitator, and ordained minister. She incorporates her multi-ethnic, multi-cultural background (Cherokee, East Indian, African and German) to promote wider acceptance and awareness to the human condition, its healing and wholeness, and the ethno-cultural inclusion of spirit, mind and body into her practice. Rev. Dr. Sandy is now retired as a psychotherapist. She continues to practice as a Spiritual and Therapeutic Life Coach along with all her other training and practices.
