Walter first became interested in Spirituality when he was eight years old. He had recently been baptized and learned he had a soul that would go to heaven if he were good. He didn’t know much about heaven but thought it must be good because he had to be good so his soul could go there. A few months after he was baptized, he saw a movie where the protagonist died, and his soul rose out of his body and headed toward the sky in the last scene.

That memory of the soul leaving the body at the time of death stuck with him. After college, he got a job as the Director of a library system where he began to research metaphysical phenomena in hopes he would understand how and why that soul went to heaven. It took him many years until he discovered that a few people in history, dating as far back as the Greek philosopher, Plato, felt that humans were spirits or souls walking around in human bodies.
